CB2000 Currency Bander

The LONGFORD engineered CB2000 Currency Counter/Bander is the only complete system to feed, count, re-verify, index, stack and band legal tender (such as banknotes and traveler's checks) inline at up to 1600 banknotes per minute.

The CB2000 possesses four different count verification systems to ensure that the count sequence is correct and verified. Coming direct from the guillotine, the banknotes are loaded into the hopper and processed automatically into stacks of, typically, 100 notes (counts of 25 and 50 are also available). A jogging mechanism is interfaced with the retractable table so the batches will be delivered to the bander in a neat, tight stack. After the batch is jogged, the stack of notes is transferred to the bander at a right angle via a pusher mechanism. When the banding process is complete, the pusher mechanism pushes the batch to a stacking unit. Here, the banded currency is collected until the proper number of stacks is made (normally 10 stacks of 100 notes for a total of 1000 notes per side).

By using one Microprocessor to control the B855RT Batch Counter and one to control the conveying/banding mechanism, the batch counter can count and monitor the collating process while a stack of currency is being banded and stacked. This allows the system to operate at the maximum speed of the bander, which are 16 stacks of 100 notes per minute (8 per side).

The success of this project was only possible by the use of the LONGFORD patented Pulsed Feed Wheel Control and Microprocessor technology that provided an accurate and efficient counting/banding system. With accuracy being a high priority, the B855RT is programmed with a double feed and miss detects alarm. If the feeder does have an error in the count, it will stop immediately and send out an audio/visual signal to alert the operator.

In addition, a specialized vision system ensures exact count.
